When talking about well-known brands like Clear, Lux, Dove, Vaseline, Omo, Comfort, Knorr, and Wall’s, you might be surprised to discover that they all come from the same company—Unilever. As a global leader in fast-moving consumer goods, Unilever is headquartered in the UK and holds leading positions in various fields, including beauty and health, personal care, home care, food and nutrition, and ice cream. Its products are available in 190 countries and regions. Since entering the Chinese market in 1923, Unilever has continuously created delightful living experiences for Chinese consumers and China is among its top three growth markets globally.

In China, Unilever has eight major production bases, three of which have been honored as “Lighthouse Factories” for their outstanding intelligent production capabilities. Among them is the Tianjin Food Factory, the world’s first “Lighthouse Factory” dedicated to producing condiments. This achievement brings great honor to Unilever and also to its partner Newamstar.

The Tianjin Food Factory covers an area of 154,000 square meters, with a total investment of 480 million yuan. It focuses on producing popular products like Knorr chicken bouillon, chicken powder, chicken sauce, spicy fresh dew, and Hellmann’s mayonnaise, with an annual output exceeding 80,000 tons, making it Unilever’s largest condiment production base in North Asia.

With the growing market demand for Knorr chicken sauce, Unilever’s Tianjin Food Factory planned a fully automated filling production line in 2022. Newamstar, a domestic leading company in the liquid packaging industry, naturally became a key consideration and choice for Unilever. After extensive evaluations and in-depth exchanges between the teams, Newamstar’s advanced technology and high-quality products earned Unilever’s favor. Unilever decided to choose Newamstar to tailor a fully automated filling line for its Tianjin Food Factory with the speed of 14,400BPH and integration of both screw capping and press capping solution.

The fully automated production line customized by Newamstar for Unilever boasts excellent compatibility, accommodating various types of bottle caps and meeting both screw cap and press cap requirements. Innovatively, it uses a universal cap track for both large and small caps without the need to switch tracks, ensuring smooth conveying for different caps. Additionally, the equipment is compatible with multiple materials, allowing the production of chicken sauce, spicy fresh dew, and other products. Each material’s unique characteristics posed significant technical challenges for the filling process. Newamstar overcame these by conducting extensive tests on each material and developing a new generation of servo filling valves that perfectly handle different products and meet the client’s weight deviation requirement of within ±2 grams.

Thanks to the excellent performance of the equipment, and timely and attentive service, Newamstar received high praise from Unilever’s project team. This deepened our friendship and opened a new chapter of extensive and diverse cooperation.
